So, my dear net friends, it's that time of the year again!
I'm leaving for my long vacation period by the beach!

Last Sunday (Daddy's day), after a gorgeous lunch,
we took our car and drove up to Tijuca
Forest. We were lucky enough
to find Mr Coati on a insect hunting tour!

Today I feel like talking a bit about my lil mom.
She's 78 now and since my beloved daddy passed away
4 years ago I've been her arms, legs and brains...
We don't have an exact diagnosis but she has lots
of Alzheimer's symptons. Most of the time she's as sweet as
can be, just like a curious hummingbird.
Last week I took her to the Botanical Gardens...

She loves all the flowers!
It's not easy to take care of a person in her
conditions. I have been learning so many things
since I started climbing this new staircase in my life!
She's under some specific medicines but I can assure
you the best, the most efficient medicine is LOVE!!

It's raining down here and, oh boy, we're
needing it! We had a whole month without
a single drop! Hey, it' s Winter after all!!! :o)
This week I finally find some free time to finish
a wonderful book: "Sophia's World" by Jostein
Gaarder. I absolutelly loved it!
Last Sunday we went visiting my brother who lives
up in the mountains area of Rio de Janeiro.

I couldn't resist adopting this cutie from Kari:
I'm a big girl and I do cry a lot!
I cried when my son was born, then when he had his first
communion, then when he graduated, etc.
I cry while reading books which touch me,
while watching movies...
I cry when I'm sad but I cry when I'm happy too!
It seems I have an endless storage of tears!!
Congrats to the Italian ladies out there!
Italy won the World Cup!
What a game!
And Federer did it again!

It's Winter!!
Lovely weather!
So, the Soccer World Cup is over to us!
It seems our team lost its 'soul'! Great players
without a sense of a real team. Well, I guess we'll
have to wait for 2010!!
But I can't complain, 2006 has been a nice year so far!
My son Rafael graduated, he's a lawyer!!
I'm so proud of him!

which happens to be my home city!
