ROSEMARY

Dew of the sea

I'm not an expert in herbs but I do love Rosemary. I have a lovely vase at

my window in which I grow a Rosemary plant. It was one of my hubby's gift

for me on my last birthday! Why do I like Rosemary? Maybe because its charming fragrance attracts me so much or because of its special meaning:

since ages Rosemary has been regarded as a token of constancy and remembrance.  It's an herb used for culinary and medicinal purposes. It's

scientific name is Rosmarinus offcinallis (the Latin name, Rosmarinus,

means dew of the sea) and it's a widely cultivated evergreen shrub of the

mint family. Native to the Mediterranean region, it has small light-blue

flowers. The aromatic leaves, are used for seasoning, and the oil is used in

 perfume and medicine.

    Culinary's  purposes:

It is used in meat, sausages, soups, sauces, stews, soups and salads. It's also used to flavor wines, vinegar, oil and butter.

                                 Medicinal's purposes:

It's said to have anti inflammatory & antiseptic effects and it's indicated to: tension of nerves or stomach, dyspepsia, colic, headache, depression, muscular  pain,  sciatica, neuralgia, premature baldness, menstrual problems, liver congestion and poor circulation

I made a little research on this subject here
