To learn a few things about Html coding!
Hyper Text Mark-up Language is not so boring or difficult as you can think! As a matter of fact, Html tags are quite easy and they'll allow you to build a home just like mine and so many others on the Web world! Please, don't be scared, you don't need to learn all of them by heart. Some of them which are the basics lines to start your site, you'll learn at once but the others you can always look them up on a book or on "on line" tutorials. Basically, Html coding is just a way of formatting your text and your images on your Web site. Browsers can't understand text processor's format so you'll have to indicate everything to your browser: color and size of font being used, places where your images should appear and so on. Youll be able to perform whatever command you want to do. There are many sites on the Web with nice hints and good explanations!
Lissa, for instance, has a very friendly page with step by step guidelines to all the basic tags. She has done a great job! Her site is colorful and very understandable!
Another useful site is Html Goodies.
Of course you can use a specific software like MS Front Page, to build your page, but if you learn the tags' principles you'll know exactly what you are doing!! I'm not an expert on the subject, so why am I discussing it?? Well, I just wanted to keep things clear because I have been dreaming of having my own site for so long and I only started working on it a few weeks ago when I found out with Elizabeth's help that Html coding wasn't a huge monster! Believe me, it's easy although tricky, I mean, you'll have to be quite accurate when writing the tags' lines! If you forget, for instance, a pair of inverted comas or a "lesser-then sign" things won't work properly... So, pay lots of attention and come on!!
