Masquerade

Masquerade!

Paper faces on parade.

..Masquerade!

Hide your face,

so the world will

never find you!

Masquerade!

Every face a

different shade...

Masquerade!

Look around

there's another

mask behind you!

Flash of mauve...

Splash of puce...

Fool and king...

Ghoul and goose...

Green and black...

Queen and priest

Treace of rouge...

Face of beast...

Faces...

Take your turn,

take  a ride

on the merry-go round...

in an inhuman race...

Eye of gold...

Thigh of blue..

True is false...

Who is who?

Curl of lip...

Swirl of gown..

Ace of hearts..

Face of clown...

This song is part of  The Phanton of the Opera

which is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart, based on the novel Le Fantome de I'Opera by Gaston Leroux.. I had the opportunity to attend this show while being in NYC! Oh, my! I can tell you I've cried rivers!

 It's way too touching!

Story

"The Phantom of the Opera is about a man whose life was determined by

his face. Hiding his scarred face behind a mask, he proceeds to haunt

everyone at the Paris Opera House. For all of eternity, he has  caused

turmoil without a blink of the eye, until he hears the voice of Miss

Christine Daae. Determined to make her love him, the Phanton, whose

given name is Erik, becomes her "Angel of Music" and comes to her in

her dreams, giving her singing lessons. Christine believed that her Angel

of Music was a gift sent from the heavens, from her late father,

until one evening, when she discovers that the angel in her

dreams was a man- a living, breathing human."
